Taoism Made by：The first group Main speaker：Jiang peng Taochiao.Taoism is China’s traditional philosophy Origin（起源）
Traditionally, Taoism has been attributed to three sources, the oldest being the legendary 'Yellow Emperor', but the most famous is Lao Tse's Tao Teh Ching.According to tradition, Lao Tse was an older contemporary of Kung Fu Tse(Confucius).The third source is Chuang Tse's(untitled)work.传统上，道教是归因于三个来源，最古老的是“黄帝”传说，但最著名的是老子的《道德经》。依照传统，老子是比同时代的孔夫子（孔子）年长的人。第三个来源就是庄子的作品。
But the original source of Taoism is said to be the ancient I Ching, The Book Of Changes.道教的最初来源据说是古代的《易经》。
The Tao was written in a time of feudal warfare and constant conflict.Lao Tzu was reflecting on a way which would stop the warfare, a realistic path for humanity to follow which would end the conflict.And so he came up with a few pages of short verses, which became the Tao Te Ching.This is the original book of Tao.道德经是写在领地战争和持续冲突的时期里面，老子是思考一种停止战争的方式，一种让人类追随，会结束斗争的现实主义道路。因此，他写了几页简短的诗句，后来成为了道德经。这就是道德经的来源。History(历史)Taoism's origins may be traced to prehistoric Chinese religions in China.They are found in the composition of the Tao Te Ching(3rd or 4th century BCE), or amidst the activity of Zhang Daoling(2nd century AD).道教的起源可以追溯到史前中国宗教在中国。他们发现在作文的自知者明(第三或第四世纪BCE),或在活动的张Daoling(公元2世纪)。

Reverence for ancestor spirits and immortals are also common in popular Taoism.Organized Taoism distinguishes its ritual activity from that of the folk religion, which some professional Taoists(Daoshi)view as debased.Chinese alchemy(including Neidan), astrology, cuisine, several Chinese martial arts, Chinese traditional medicine, fengshui, and many styles of qigong breath training disciplines have been intertwined with Taoism throughout history.对祖先的精神和神仙也普遍流行的道教。道教仪式活动组织区分它与民间宗教，一些专业的道教(Daoshi)认为贬低。中国炼金术(包括Neidan),占星术,美食,一些中国武术,中医,风水,许多风格的气功呼吸训练学科已经与道教历史上交织在一起。

Taoist theology focuses on doctrines of wu wei(“action that does not involve struggle or excessive effort”), spontaneity, humanism, relativism and emptiness.This philosophical aspect of Taoism emphasizes various themes found in the Tao Te Ching(道德经)such as naturalness, vitality, peace, “yielding”(wu wei), emptiness(refinement), detachment, the strength of softness(or flexibility), and in the Zhuangzi such as receptiveness, spontaneity, the relativism of human ways of life, ways of speaking and guiding behavior.Taoism is a peaceful religion.道教理论关注的学说无为(“行动,不涉及斗争或过度的努力”)、自发性、人文主义、相对主义和空虚。这种哲学方面的道教强调各种主题发现在自知者明(道 德经)如自然、活力、和平、“屈服”(无为),空虚(细分)、超然,强度柔和(或灵活性),庄子如感受性、自发性、相对主义的人类的生活方式,和指导行为的讲话方式。道教是一个和平的宗教。道教经典英译

道教在东汉顺帝时，天师张道陵创教之初，奉老子为祖师，称教主。以老子所著的《道德经》为圣经，以老子所说的“道”与“德”为最根本的信仰。道教为什么要以“道”名教呢？就是因为道教徒对老子之道，一要研究、二要信仰、三要继承、四要发扬，所以《典论》中说：道士者，要“以道为事”。
“道”在道教中是唯一的理论基础，是以“清静为宗、虚无为体、柔弱为用”的一种“道”，这种“道”是宇宙的本源与主宰者，它无所不包、无所不在，它是一切的开始与万事万物的生化者。有了“道”方生成宇宙，由“宇宙”中的“元气”构成了天地、阴阳、四时、五行，由此而化生万物。《道德经》中云：“道生一、一生二、二生三、三生万物。”《太平经》中说：“夫道何等也？万物之元首，不可得名者。六极之中，无道不能变化。元气行道，以生万物，天地大小，无不由道而生也”。唐吴筠《玄纲论》中说：“道者何也？虚无之系，造化之根，神明之本，天地之元。其大无外，其微无内。浩旷无端，杳杳无际。至幽靡察，而大明垂光。至静无心，而品物有方。混漠无形，寂寥无声。万象以之生，五行以之成。生者无极，成者有云，生生成成，今古不移，此之谓道也”。老子所说的“道”既是指“宇宙”的本体，又是指“自然”的规律。
《老子想尔注》进一步把“道”的化身的老子衍化为神明，称“一者道也”，“一散形为气，聚形为太上老君，常治昆仑，或言虚无，或言自然，或言无名，皆同一身”。老子说：“人法地、地法天、天法道、道法自然”。说明“宇宙”的根源是“自然”；由自然产生宇宙之后，再由宇宙产生万物。“道”又指太空之“空”而言，缘它是无形无象的，故经书中说：万物生于“有，有生于“无”。《清静经》说：“大道无形，生育天地；大道无情，运行日月；大道无名，长养万物。吾不知其名，强名曰道”。《道德经》云：“道可道，非常道”。认为大道无形，不可言说。《太平经》云：“道乃万物之师也，得之者明，失之者迷”。得“道”之人，可以返本还原，和大自然之“道”同一体性，永恒不变。道经中云：“道者，理也”。认为此“至虚之理”变通无碍，化生万法，永恒不灭，修道者若能体悟此“理”，就能忘去一切幻化假相，超凡入圣，修真得道。《消魔经》说：“真道之业，不衰不病，不死长生”。希望能通过修炼而取得和“道”合而为一，永存天地。老君曰：道无生死，而形有生死。所以言生死者，属形不属道也。形所以生者，由得其道也。形所以死者，由失其道也。人能存在守道，则长存不亡也。又说：知道易，信道难。信道易，行道难。行道易，得道难。得道易，守道难。守道不失，身常存也。又曰；人常失道，非道失人。人常去生，非生去人。故养生者慎勿失道，为道者慎勿失身。使道与生相守，生与道相保。“德”，道经中说：道之在我者就是“德”，它是从“道”中分化出来的，而万物化生都必须有“德”，因为“道”是总体，“德”是个体，德是指万物所含有的特性而言，“道”和“德”，有着共性与特性的关系。《道德经》中所说的“上德”、“玄德”、“常德”、“道尊而德贵”的德，都指的是这个“德”。老子在解释“上德”时说：“上德不德，是以有德„„上德无为而无不为”。解释”玄德”说：“长之畜之，成之熟之，养之复之，生而不有，为而不恃，长而不宰，是为玄德”。解释“常德”说：“常德不忒，复归于无极„„常德乃足，复归于朴”。《自然经》中说：“德言得者，谓得于道果”。《清静经》中说：“上士无争、下士好争、上德不德、下德执德，执著之者，不明道德。众生所以不得真道者，为有妄心。”所以道教徒一定要重视“修道养德”，并将“道”和“德”作为最根本的信仰和行动的总准则，必须做到既要修道，而又要积德。老子说：“上德不德”，“上德无为而无不为”。所以“道”和“德”又是道教所说“教理、教义”中的基本原则。唐吴筠《玄纲论》中说：“德者何也？天地所禀，阴阳所资。经以五行，纬以四时。牧之以君，训之以师。幽明动植，咸畅其宜。泽流无穷，群生不知谢其功；惠加无极，百姓不知赖其力，此之谓德也”。《太平经》中认为：“道”与“德”的约制，驾御宇宙的一切，天、地、人三个范畴都离不开“道德”的维系。唐吴筠《玄纲论》总括“道德”的含意说：“道德者天地之祖；天地者万物之父；帝王者三才之主。然则道德、天地、帝王一也”。老子认为：根据“道”的准则，“修之于身，其德乃真，修之于帮，其德乃丰，修之于天下，其德乃普”。因此，道教主张修道者要“积善阴德”，乐人之吉，愍人之苦，周人之急，救人之穷，手不伤生，口不劝祸，不自贵，不自誉，不嫉妒，不佞谄，如此乃为有德。“道”与“德”在道书中应用很广泛，常因所谈的问题的范畴、性质不同，解释也便有所不同。道经中也有将“德”作为社会伦理规范讲的，如“广修道德”，“积善阴德”，这是继承了《老子》中“天道无亲，常与善人”的思想。道教主张以“清静”、“无为”、“柔弱”、“不争”、“抱一”、“寡欲”、“自然”、“玄妙”等作为处世与修养之方法，也都是从“道”与“德”的基本原则中而发挥出来的。“清静”是道教教义的基本概念之一，也是道教徒必须遵行的修持方法和处世态度。“清静”和“无为”是两个类似的概念。其含义为清心寡欲、无为和静。道教认为“清静”是道的根本，万物清静，“则道自来居”。老子认为是大自然最早的一种形态；又是指修养过程中获得成功的一种境界；也是指他所理想的社会与领导者的一种政治风格，即是“道”之“无为而无不为”。
老子说：“清静为天下正，我无为而民自化，我好静而民自正，我无事而民自富，我无欲而民自朴”。因而把“清静”作为身心修养和治国安民的基本法则。《清静经》中说的“无形”、“无情”、“无名”，都是指“道”的“清静”现象而言；道教的修养功夫，应效法其“道”的“清静”与“常清静”，能做到“常应清静”，就说明已达到了“清静”的最高境界，这种境界就是“道”的“无为而无不为”。唐代高道司马承祯认为，修道必须收心，而收心的关键在于“守静去欲”。他说：“心为道之器宇，虚静至极，则道君而慧生”；“静则生慧，动则成昏”。道教认为，人修炼精气当效法“道”的清静本性，“清其心源”，“静其气海”，“常清常静不起纤毫尘念”。做到“内观于心，心无其心；外观于形，形无其形”，最后达到六欲不起，空无了悟的境界，才能修成金丹之道。
“无为”是道教对待社会人生的处世态度和基本法则。也是“老子”哲学的重要概念之一，认为天道自然无为，人的行事也应效法天道，不要妄自作为，讲求清静寡欲，与世无争，慎行远祸。老子主张：“为无为，事无事，味无味”；“圣人处无为之事，行不言之教”；“为者败之，执者失之”。认为“有为”者（强所作为）终必失败，“无为”者（顺应自然而作为）则无败。《老子河上公注》说：“法道无为，治身则有益精神，治国则有益万民”。《道德经》云：“道常无为而无不为”。认为“道”是产生宇宙万物的本体，从产生的过程看，是自然而然的，没有任何外在强加的力量，所以说“道”是“无为”；但从其产生万物的结果看，一切都由“道”所生，因此又可说“道”是“无不为”。道教强调“无为事主、无为事师、寂若无人，至于无为”，以求全身、去危、离咎。因为欲求无为，先当避害，要“远嫌疑、远小人、远苟得、远行止。慎口食、慎口利、慎处闹、慎力斗。常思过失，忘其形骸”。《元气论》云：“无为者、乃心不动也。不动也者，内心不起，处境不入，内处安静，则神定气和”。“柔弱” 老子说：“弱者道之用”，认为“柔弱”就是“道”的作用。“柔弱胜刚强，守柔曰强”的主张，成为老子重要的人生观。道教吸取这一思想，衍化为修道长生和应世接物的修行观念及方法。在修养方法上，要做到“专气致柔，能如婴儿乎”；从物理上来说；“天下柔弱莫过于水，而攻坚强者莫之能胜，其无以易之”；就人的生理现象而言：“人之生也柔弱，死也坚强”。万物草木之生柔脆，其死也枯槁。故坚强者死之徒，柔弱者生之徒。从而提出“坚强处下，柔弱处上”。老子认为：柔能克刚，弱能胜强，是以辩证方法来说明其“柔弱”的功用和“刚强”的弊害之道理。“不争” 是道教教义内容之一，也是道教徒对待社会人生的基本态度。老子说：“上善若水，水善利万物而不争，处众人之所恶，故几于道”。《道德经》云：“不自见故明，不自是故彰，不自伐故有功，不自矜故长。夫惟不争，故天下莫能与之争”。老子认为：人的一切作为都应当顺乎自然，要能做到：一要能利万物；二要大公无私；三要甘处卑下；四要不与人争；五要心胸远博；六要言而有信；七要应时而动；八要善于治国；九要有办事之才；这就是老子在处世哲学中的一个重要准则。认为圣人应效法天道，长育万物，自然无为，而不强求争功夺利，如此才能“后其身而身先，外其身而身存”。老子提倡：“天之道，利而不害；圣人之道，为而不争”。《老子想尔注》告诫说：“求长生者，不劳精思求财以养身，不以无功劫君取禄以荣身，不食五味以恣，衣弊履穿，不与俗争”。强调圣人不与俗争。道教讲求的不争并非是束手徒置，万事无所作为；而是不与世人争俗世的功名利禄，贪求财色等，对于合乎天道自然运行法则的事，则要尽力而行。以彰显“天理”。认为天地万物以及为人处世都要顺乎“天理”而不能强求。《云笈七签》中说：“与时争之者昌，与人争之者亡”。修道者若能争此不争者，就达到了道教的“不争”的教义要求。“抱一” 是、道教教义的重要概念。“抱一”也称“守一”。《道德经》云：“载营魄抱一，能无离乎？”又云：天得一以清，地得一以宁，神得一以灵，谷得一以盈，万物得一以生，候王得一以为天上贞。“抱一”是道教中基本的修养功夫，简单地说，就是在静坐的时候要做到“神气混然”的境地，所以说“一”就是“混然一气”的意思。《五厨经》云：“一气和太和，得一道皆泰，和乃无一和”。在“一气和太和注中说：“一气者，妙本冲用，所谓元气也。冲用在天为阳和，在地为阴，交合为泰和也，则人之受生皆资一气之和以为泰和”。在“得一道皆泰”注中说：“得一者，言内存一气以养精神，外全形生以为车宅，则一气冲用与身中泰和和也”。《太平经》说：“一者，乃道之根也，气之始也，命之所系属，众心之主也”。认为“一”同“道”一样，是天、地、人的根本。《老子想尔注》说：“一者道也，一散形为气，聚形为太上老君”。《太平经》说：“古今要道，皆言守一，可长存而不老。人知守一，名为无极之道”。又云：“子若守一，无使多知，守一不退，无一不知，所求皆得，端坐致之”。又说：“守一之法，乃万神之根”。葛洪《抱朴子·地真篇》中说：“一能成阴生阳，转步寒暑，春得一以发，夏得一以长，秋得一以收，冬得一以藏”。道教主张，修道者若要长生，必须修“守一”之法。又云：“守一存真，乃得神通，知一不难，难在于终，守之不失，可以无穷”。道教中又将“守一”法分为“守真一”与“守玄一”两种。在修炼方法上特别强调“守一”的重要：“一者，心也、意也、志也、念此一身中之神也。凡天下之事，尽是所成也”；“故守一，然后且具知善恶过失处，再能守道”；“古今要道，皆言守一，可长存而不老”。认为“守一”才能消灾免祸，益寿延年，长生通神。
“寡欲” 道教教义内容之一，是道教徒修行和处世都应严格节制个人的私欲，否则修道无成。《道德经》云：“罪莫大于可欲，祸莫大于不知足，咎莫大于欲得”。老子提倡“见素抱朴”，“少私寡欲”。认为“五色使人目盲，五音令人耳聋，五味令人口爽，驰骋畋猎令人心发狂，难得之货令人行妨”。过多的物欲只能引起人心志的昏乱。道教制定了一些戒律对俗欲作了若干的限制和规定。如初真十戒中就有“戒淫邪”、“戒嗜欲”、“不得贪求无厌”，中极三百戒中规定“不得杀生食肉，盗窃淫邪，饮酒啖辛”等；天仙大戒中“远身行”，“除恶想”“绝声色”，“俭爱欲”，“不淫想”等修持法。全真道尹志平说：“修行之害，食、睡、色三欲为重，多食即多睡，睡多情欲所由生，人莫不知，少能行之者。必欲制之，先减睡欲”。道教吸取老子寡欲观念与修持实践相结合，认为世俗的美色、厚味、暖衣、妙音等，都是过伤的的物欲，伤气害性，为“凶害之根”，修道者应该断然加以摒弃。“自然” 老子首先提出“自然”的观念来解释“道”和“德”。《道德经》云：“人法地、地法天、天法道、道法自然”。就是认为道生万物以及天、地、人的活动过程都应以“自然无为”为法，并非“道”之上还有一“自然”实体的存在。道教主伙自然是宇宙万物的本性，万物以道为法，道以自然为法。《道德经》中又说：“道之尊、德之贵、夫莫之命而常自然”。认为宇宙一切都是自然而然的，人应当顺其本来的自然，不可有意作为。“玄妙” 《道德经》中曾多次使用“玄”，如“玄之又玄，众妙之门”、“玄德深矣，远矣”，其意义为“渺冥幽远”，是对“道”和“德”的一种形容。《老子想尔注》说：“玄、天也。古之仙士，能守信微妙，与天相通”。道教认为若主张“无”或主张“有”都是偏执一边，因此要“非有非无”，“合于中道”，这就是“玄”。认为“又玄”就是“重玄”。用重玄思想去看待世间的一切事物和现象，主张从心智认识上取消刚与柔、动与静、有与无、善与恶、是以非的一切对立，以达到“境智双泯”，“能所都忘”的虚无境界是道教教义以哲学思辨的特征。
“我命在我不在天” 是道教教义之一。意思是个人的生命，同天地一样，都是由自然之气所化生，故若修道守气，返本归根，就可以与道同在，寿比天长，强调个人的生命，能由自我决定，不由天地掌握。道教以生为乐，重生恶死。所以强调“重生贵术”，追求长生久视。《抱朴子*黄白篇》说：“我命在我不在天，还丹成金亿万年”。意即人的生命之存亡，年寿之长短，决定于自身，并非决定于天命。认为经过修炼可以延寿，如果修炼有恒，日久年深，可以成为神仙。《西升经》推崇“虚无”和“自然”，认为虚无生自然，自然生道，道生气，气生天地，天地生万物。从根本上说，天地与人都为气所化生，因此二者是平等的，只要弃智养神，固守本元之气，就能“与道同久”，而这一切都是“自然”所致。认为道生万事万物，道与生相守，生与道相保，二而一，是须臾不离的。道教认为生活在世界上是一件乐事，死亡才是痛苦的，因而道教的教义是乐生、重生，所以强调“仙道重生”。相信通过人自身的努力，可以改变常规的自然事物和现象。
