北京大学广告系陈经超:广告,改变人心的力量

广告并不像传统意义上说的只是卖东西,社会中的很多观念其实也可以通过广告的形式进行构建。所以广告的核心其实是去构建人们的一些观念。真正成功的广告要有改变人心的力量。

如果你热爱生活,同时又能将理论结合实践,那么在广告的领域里,你想去哪里应该都没什么问题。

了解广告:它的核心是改变人的观念

《大前程》:很多人可能会认为广告就是媒体上呈现出来的广告作品,那么您认为广告的领域应该如何定义?

陈经超:这要看角度,如果从比较小的角度,就像大家看到的,广告创意,广告制作,最后出来成品在媒体上表现。而从大的角度来看,其实营销、策划等活动都包含在广告里。广告比较特别的一点是,在整个营销环节中,它所花的钱是最多的。以企业来看,假设市场部有一亿的推广预算,可能会有七八千万是在媒介投放,而这就是广告的一个重要工作。媒介的投放以及推广的活动,都隶属于广告。一般广告会归在市场部里,它又与公关有融合的趋势,所以如果要严格地定义广告的范围,有一定的困难。因为它往往已经跟整个营销活动相结合。只能说它在其中会占一个很重的比例,尤其在支出方面。

《大前程》:广告业的核心特质是什么?什么样的人才应该称之为“广告人”?

陈经超:谈到广告人,我们可以从广告这个学科来说。到底什么是广告?每个学科都有自己核心的领域,广告的就是改变人的观念。相对营销而言,广告是非常有针对性的。广告活动一定有一个载体,不管载体是什么形式,其核心诉求都是转变消费者的观念。这是广告区别于其他相关学科的所在,很多广告制作经营活动也是从这个点出发。那么我们讨论的广告人,就是有能力对消费者进行洞察,并经由一些行为和活动,来改变或者构建消费者的观念的人。如果能够在洞察的基础上,经由一些活动,使消费者产生情感偏好,以至产生购买行为,这就是一个真正意义的广告人。

《大前程》:从社会影响上看,广告具有怎样的力量?

陈经超:除了商业广告之外,广告还有很多类型,如公益广告、政府广告等等。像刚才提到的,广告就是要构建一定的形象。现在有很多公益广告,推动不吸烟或酒后不驾车等公益诉求,这些公益诉求也需要广告去进行形象构建。因此广告并不像传统意义上说的只是卖

东西,社会中的很多观念其实也可以通过广告的形式进行构建。所以广告的核心其实是去构建人们的一些观念。真正成功的广告要有改变人心的力量。

在美国有这样一种说法,广告在某种程度上有类似宗教的力量。当今生活在物质世界里的人们,精神上的寄托逐渐贫乏。所以你会发现有很多拜物主义者转向了对品牌的崇拜。一个人穿着佩戴某一个品牌出门,意味着他就具备了某一种身份。即把品牌和生活很紧密的连接起来,这个过程就是广告构建的。这样就构筑了一种类似宗教的力量。人们信任品牌,品牌能给人一种心理上的满足,在这个层面上说,广告确实有它的独特力量。而且这个力量会影响社会的潮流,指引我们该买什么样的东西,过什么样的生活。

行业空间:广告业繁荣是经济繁荣的反映

《大前程》:广告业在国民经济中扮演一个什么样的角色?

陈经超:广告在中国应该算是新兴产业,有关经济规模的问题可能相对复杂。因为就像我刚才说的,广告并不是单一的某个环节,它跟营销、公关等等已经逐渐融合。但也正因为这样的融合,所以各个部门和环节可能都需要学广告的人。

另外,因为广告是花费最高的环节,如果一亿里面有七八千万作为广告费用花掉,那它怎么可能不受重视,这七八千万花得对或不对,怎样花得更有效果,怎样使其产生一定的效益,这都是广告会受到重视的原因。而事实上现在广告业也确实越来越受到重视。《大前程》:对于中国经济发展,广告业在多大程度上发挥作用?
