《包拯》一文,比较详细的记述了宋代清官包拯的生平事迹,表现了他为官刚正、执法严峻、一生清贫的美德。
《岳飞》一文从多方面记述了岳飞治军有方,爱兵如子,带出了一支善于打硬仗的军队,同时也表现了岳飞忠君爱国,爱惜百姓的品格。
《〈列子〉二则》中“杞人忧天”的故事讽刺了毫无根据的瞎担心是庸人自扰,是没有意义的。“杨布打狗”的故事则尖锐的批判了只看表面现象,不看本质的做法。
诗词五首意蕴丰富。《迢迢牵牛星》抒发了因爱情遭受挫折而痛苦忧伤的心情。《渡荆门送别》这首五言律诗不仅描绘了船过荆门山后一望无际的景色,而且表现了年轻人喜悦,开朗的心情。《春望》抒发了诗人忧国思家的情感。《白雪歌送武判官归京》是一首有名的咏雪和送别诗。《西江月》一词描绘了极有江南特点的农村夏夜风光,生动地表达了词人对农村生活的喜爱和对农民丰收的喜悦。
