第一篇:Anna Karenina
Anna Karenina
Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 in Russia. Many people think that he is the greatest 19th century Russian writer. His most famous works are War and Peace and Anna Karenina and he also wrote many shorter works.Tolstoy believed in God, and he loved peace very much. The bad society made him very unhappy, so he wanted to do something to change it but he failed. He often gave poor people help.In 1910 he left the world.Anna was a beautiful, knowledgeable and noble woman, she was stand out in the upper crust. She married Karenin who was rich and powerful but old, pedantic and hypocritical.Karenin was religious , he thought it was God’s will that he married Anna.He was always busying with his career, and did well in his position, but he never knew how to love.Anna was despaired about her life.Although her life was carefree;she needed someone to love her. When Anna met handsome and charming Vronsky for the first time in Moscow, her enthusiasm was awakened. She felt happy and contradictory. She told herself to forget him, for she had married and should not fall in love with anyone else except her husband. But in Vronsky’s enthusiastic chase, she gradually compromised and began to face her own love.Of course, Karenin did not allow that thing happen. He decided to keep Anna with him and to hide what had happened to the world.Anna and Vronsky went to travel Europe and at last settle down in Italy.Vronsky felt blank and Anna missed her son, so they went back to Moscow.Anna gave birth to a baby girl and almost died. When she was unconscious, she begged Karenin forgive her. However, when she was healthy again, she was with Vronsky again.Vronsky did not love her, when time went on, his love faded.Anna felt despaired she putted herself under rails, died.Anna’s character doomed her thespian fate, at that time and that social background. When she chose to love Vronsky, she knew clearly that society would not forgive her.Her death was inevitable, but not because of her demoralization, selfishness and envy, however, it is because that she was a woman, an honest woman, an honest woman in hypocritical, male chauvinism aristocracy.I think it is not smart of Anna to lave Karenin, especially aftershe was badly ill.At first, I supported her to pursue true love.Nevertheless, Vronsky was not a good man who deserved her love. The way I see it ,although she and Karenin’s marriage was not based on love Karenin was good to her.She could live a wealthy life, live with her son and needed not to worried about Karenin will have affairs. In addition, she slways thought Karenin treat her coldly, but she never care about him and understand him.
